History
1978: Spoken Wheel Cyclery was started by Craig and Diane Corson at 420 Washington Avenue, selling Trek and other quality bicycles and accessories.
1978: The first year of supporting RAGBRAI, with a service van for repairs and groovy RAGBRAI t-shirts.
1984: Shirley Welden and ”Skeeter“ Olsen purchased Spoken Wheel Cyclery from the Corson. Shirley also sold stained-glass supplies and taught classes under the same roof.
1988: Young Tyler Duit started his apprenticeship under Skeeter. This was also Tyler’s first year serving RAGBRAI.
1999: Older and educated with a Marketing degree from the U.N.I. School of Business, Tyler Duit purchased Spoken Wheel Cyclery.
2010: Spoken Wheel Cyclery purchased and renovated the current building two doors to the east at 416 Washington Avenue.
Today: We continue to serve and grow with our cycling community!
